Lab Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

You may remember this older thin tripod we took in during the later part of the summer spotted wondering around on 431 North in New Hope near Hobbs Island. We then had located his rightful owner who however decided to just surrender him to our rescue since she couldn't afford to keep him and learned from us he was heart worm positive. Since Briar has been fully vetted and under heart worm treat and doing just great! He is an awesome boy! Briar is a older boy approx 6-7 yrs old, slightly over 50 pounds, sensitive, observant, low maintenance, loving, easy-going, friendly, house trained, kennel trained, no bad habits boy. We learned from his ... (Read More)previous owner he was shot in the leg by a neighbor and his hind leg then had to be amputated. He gets along well with other dogs and is on the submissive side. He does great with children, men and likes women in particular. He has not been tested with cats but with his mild mannerisms the foster believes he would be easily accepting of them if properly introduced. He rides well in a car without getting sick nor any other mishaps. Briar is a boy his foster termed 'an easy dog'. He would be great in just about any environment or home setting. Young or old, single parent, with or without kids, with or without other dogs. Once he is established he does not run off if the fence gate is open. He walks well on a leash and just a super overall great dog. Briar has been; neutered, up-to-date on all vaccines, heart worm tested positive and being treated until negative, dewormed plus microchipped. If you are interested in Briar please go to our website and complete the pre-adoption application http://www.southernskiesrescue.org (Less)

Squall is very loving, Blue Doberman Female, approx. 72 pounds, approx. 6-7 years old. Fully housebroken. She loves people! She likes other dogs but wants to be an Alpha girl with other dogs. She loves to be in the house and does great inside. She likes to lay on the bed/couch with you. She will come and put her head under your hand. Enjoys going for walks on a leash. I would not trust her with little critters: birds, hamster, bunnies etc. She is very good with kids of ... (Read More)all ages. She is a counter surfer and has to be watched around food. She loves her treats and is very food motivated. When Squall first came to us she was sickly, low weight and heartworm positive. She has since been treated for her heartworms, heart worm negative and is doing great. She would need to continue to be on monthly heartworm treatments as all dogs should especially living in Alabama or any Southern State. Squall is fully vetted. She can and does jump a 4ft size chain link fence, so she will need a home with a privacy fenced in yard especially for potty and play time and back inside to be with the rest of her new family. If you are interested in adopting Squall please go to our website and complete the pre-adoption application http://www.southernskiesrescue.org (Less)
